Olivia's Birth Story

Olivia Rose Hollis

Born 7/29/09 @ 11:41 pm 7 lbs, 12 oz, 20 in long

So Tuesday 7/28/09 I was admitted to begin the induction process. I got the Cervadil at 8 pm.. Had some contractions throughout the night but no big deal. Wednesday morning (7/29/09) at 6 am they started the pitocin. It really wasn't that bad till at 8 am they broke my water... then all hell broke loose lol!!! I got the epi... and I felt a little better.

UNTIL... IT WORE OFF LOL!! I thought I was going to kill someone!! So they put more epidural in (strait shot not just drip) and I was better. A few hours later it freakin wore off again!!! So once again they shot me up again. Well, I was progressing but my cervix was still "high". So, finally I was 10 cm... Time to push. I pushed and pushed and pushed and nothing happened. She was getting closer but not by much. Then, my Dr tod me due to the position of my cevix (I think this is what he said I don't exactly remember) that I prob would not get her out and asked if I wanted a C-Section. I told him no to let me keep pushing and he agreed. So, push push push... no baby. Finally I gave in.. I had NOTHING left in me. The epi had worn off AGAIN and I just couldn't take it anymore. I told the doctor lets go for the section.

The C-Section itself was not bad at all. Josh AND my Mom (Usually you can only have 1 person in the OR with you but my Dr knows my mom) were there with me. So... at 11:41 PM I heard that beautiful cry... Olivia Rose was here. The only thing I regret about the c section is not getting to see Josh's reaction when he saw her.

It was rough.. but thats why they call it labor right?? It was definitely all worth it in the end though.
